Jupiter's Great Red Spot is very prominent at lower left of planet. Jupiter's moons are putting on a great show at the time of this image! The moon Ganymede is off Jupiter's disk to the right. Just a hint of surface structure can be seen on Ganymede as differences in surface shading. Ganymede's shadow is very prominent transiting Jupiter's disk. Jupiter's moon Io is just starting to transit the planet's disk on the left. |
