NGC 6940 in the constellation Vulpecula
NGC 6940 is a beautiful rich-field open cluster. The cluster itself is comprised of about 70 stars, superimposed on a background of thousands of Milky Way stars. The cluster is located at a distance of approximatiely 2,500 light-years from Earth.
